No offense, but a badly made one might shine a bad light on this community. I agree that we may maybe not know how to simply manage or setting up discord, so why don't you help us by giving us some tips about that, instead of just leaving the server ? If we never try, we will never know how to do it anyway. Resistance, is futile. |

RE: TSCM | Community Discord
I believe that Person doesn't have Discord. Otherwise he would have set up an official TSCM server in the first place.
Being that Mumblevoice was the only form of 'discord-type-app', I doubt Person would consider making a Discord server at all (The mumble probably isn't even online anymore) |

It's because there is no official one that we created this one. Lots of player asked for this in the past, I remember threads from 2016 asking if there was a Discord server. Now we did one, we'll see if it's a good thing or no. Of course, feel free to give up some managing tips for discord if you have any. Resistance, is futile. |

RE: TSCM | Community Discord
I dug up some history and found that 2016 thread - "discord", Forley, 2016/02/13. I might say that was a shit show and didn't really discuss a Discord guild properly. At the time it was clear that the Mumble server was the preferred method of voice communication, although as that was nearly 5 years ago now, I'm sure some opinions have changed and I imagine a few more people know what Discord is now.
I'd also like to say that, from what I have seen, you have attempted to copy Spectaculum Studio's current Discord layout. As Spectaculum is not TSCM, I find these actions confusing |

RE: TSCM | Community Discord
I don't have any objection to people setting up their own Discord servers and inviting people to them, though it should be made clear that the server is not "official".
As for an "official" server, creating and maintaining such a thing takes significant time and moderation and as others have mentioned, there's already a few servers that people congregate in that fill in the gap. I'm also not really a fan of Discord and am cautious about investing time into them given that they're constantly bleeding money and living off of investors. |

RE: TSCM | Community Discord
For my part I much prefer discord than mumble whose interface dates from the 2000s (at least Teamspeak will try to change that).
After discord today is largely privileged especially on communities without game server (like MMORPGs), it removes the cost of a vocal or dedicated / vps server ^^. Afterwards, we give our data everywhere (cc Google / Apple / Microsoft or Facebook) so good ^^. |

RE: TSCM | Community Discord
The arguement of "we already give our data" is not really a valid one, I'm personally not sensitive as to where my data goes but I know other people who'd prefer to stay as anonymous as possible. Hence why the rise of VPNs; alternative browsers claiming your privacy and such.

RE: TSCM | Community Discord
VPN providers? It's a joke those it's the first to give our data. The only way to be sure is to take a server dedicate or VPS and install open vpn (and still have to trust the host). Nothing is private on the internet
