This is a long time I play on your server and really nice work. But I have a little request. I like the gyropod and the stability. I want to know if it is possible to have a new limit with the gyropod. Like 200 props ? Even with my little ship I can't drive it because 100 props it's too poor. I hope you'll understand and accept this request. I think i'm not alone in this case. So thanks you anyway. And see you soon on TSCM
The reason the limit is so low is cause if we increase the limit, it wouldnt be stable(server would have more crashes and terrible lag spikes) anymore.
The possibility is there, but i dont know how high person would set it as it is there for a reason
There is also lags with all the big ships, so ... I just ask for 100 props more. It's not so unstable, when we see 1,2,3 or more ships with 1000 props ...

There are two types of lag, client side lag (only for one player) and server side lag (for every player).
A big ships causes client side lag which depends on the Computer hardware of the player receiving the lag (better computer -> less lag). You can prevent client side/fps lag by not looking at these big ships, by going to another galaxy or by having a good Computer which doesn't lag. Flying ships causes server side lag, which means every player on the server lags, no matter where they are or how good their Computer hardware is. This sort of lag is able to crash the server.
So there's a difference between the lag of huge ships and the lag of small flying ships, because flying ships causes server side lag, which makes the server lag or unstable at the worst case.

Yepp, but add 100 props it's not so big ... I mean with 200 props, you have also your e2 , ... etc. Just 100 props more. Anyway I have also something to say to Person. Secret thing.
I've flown around 300+ prop ships on the server, and as long as under 5 people are on the server handles it just fine. The 100 prop limit really puts a damper on what you can do with a ship.
Most of you know me, I like putting Tron "stripes" on my ships. And every "stripe" is actually an sprop beam, which means every straight line is an extra prop. These small props almost have no effect when my ship is fully parented. So why should I have to deal with a limit when the only thing putting me over is some detail? And not everyone wants to use holos.
The limit should be at least 300. It's almost as if you all are completely ignoring the auto-parent tool. Remember, props don't create lag, constraints do.

Not true. Parenting reduces the cost of moving objects because it removes slow constraint resolving and most physics interactions, but it's still having to do reasonably expensive work to keep every parented prop exactly relative to the parent.
This adds up slower than constraints and doesn't have the spazz effect (which is the real destroyer of servers), but still quickly enough that >100 props really starts to drag.
I didn't just choose a random number. With around 300 props being moved the hit on the server is about 1/8th of a tick per ship (~2ms). Considering there's physics, networking, Lua code and people's chips also needing time to run, that's a huge chunk out of it and will drop the tick rate noticeably, especially when more than one is moving.
So I'm afraid this is not going to change. Use warping to move larger ships around, and curse Valve/Source/Garry/whoever's fault it is that VPhysics is garbage slow.
